LeRoy E. Dringmann

LeRoy E. Dringmann, 90, passed away Oct. 10, 2020, at Chisholm Place Assisted Living, Wichita. He was born Oct. 16, 1929, in Sutherland, Neb., to Fred and Marie (Frohlich) Dringmann. LeRoy married Jean Truex Aug. 6, 1950, in Great Bend. She survives.

LeRoy, a Great Bend resident since 1935 moving from Sutherland, Neb., was an electrical contractor owning and operating Amerine Electric. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, IES (Illuminating Engineering Society), honorary life member of KCCI (Kansas Chamber of Commerce and Industry), NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association), and was influential with the Kansas Oil and Gas Museum. Civically, LeRoy was also known for his holiday spirit, volunteering many hours decorating Great Bend with Christmas lights. He was the second person to receive Great Bend Chamber Citizen of the year award. 

Survivors include wife, Jean of the home; two daughters Judi Sharp and husband Jim of Derby and Janet Siebert and husband Alan of Parkerfield; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. LeRoy was preceded in passing by one daughter, Jane Koelsch; and by two sisters, Velma Jean Clark and Ruth Basgall.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2020, at First Presbyterian Church, Great Bend, with Pastor Kathleen Luke. Interment will follow at Great Bend Cemetery. The family requests those in attendance to wear masks and social distance. Limited seating will be available. A recording of the service will be available under LeRoy’s obituary at www.bryantfh.net. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 15, at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or City of Great Bend Trail of Lights or Barton County Fair Association, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
