Raymond — Lila Mae Blackburn, 86, of Raymond, Kan., passed away May 14, 2023, at the Sterling Village, Sterling, Kan. She was born Nov. 1, 1936, in Raymond, the daughter of Roy Emerson and Lottie Elizabeth Gable Hendricks. Lila was a lifelong Raymond resident.
She served as the Rice County Treasurer at the time of her retirement; prior to that she was the secretary and bookkeeper for Sterling Butane. Lila was an active member of the Raymond Baptist Church. On July 3, 1952, Lila was united in marriage with Delma Blackburn in Raymond.
She is survived by her husband, Delma Blackburn; two daughters, Vicki Caywood and husband Doug of Hutchinson, and Lorie Taylor and husband Victor of Cedarcreek, Mo.; four grandchildren, David Joe Blackburn, Shana Givens and husband Cliff, Jeremy Taylor and wife Melissa, and Joshua Taylor and wife Becca; eight great-grandchildren, Steve Blackburn, Abigail Blackburn, Allison Blackburn, Rylan Birkby, Brynley Taylor, Camila Taylor, Cian Taylor, and Carter Taylor. Lila was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steve Blackburn; five siblings, Clarence Hendricks, W.H. Hendricks, Lawrence Hendricks, Don Hendricks, and Lela Oglesbee; and granddaughter, Reannan Kloxin.
A graveside service will be held on a later date at the Raymond Hilltop Cemetery, Raymond, with Pastor Matt Hendricks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Raymond Baptist Church in care of Birzer Funeral Home, Sterling.
