PHOENIX, Ariz. — Lilbourn Duane Karst, 76, of Phoenix Ariz., passed away on Sunday, April 7, after a long illness with pulmonary fibrosis. He was a loving spouse, respected business owner, proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was born in Hoisington on October 27th, 1935, proceeded in death by his father and mother, Constantine Karst and Elsie Irene Eurich.
Duane served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict as a radar controller. He then began his career in the trucking industry with Doonan Truck Sales in Great Bend. After moving to Colorado he established Western Truck & Trailer Sales, which then became Karst Truck & Equipment Sales, before retiring after 40 years.
He is survived by his wife Beverly Karst; stepmother Leona Gertude Karst; his sisters Darlene Goscha (Ron) and Deanna Davis (Danny); his children Dawn Davis (Roger), Troy Ward (Tina), Eric Karst (Brandi), and Niki Easterwood (Mike); 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday April 19, at Living Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, 8050 W. Coal Mine Ave. in Littleton, Colo.
