Lisa Kum Soon Polkinghorne 1962 - 2021

Lisa Kum Soon Polkinghorne, 59, passed away December 18, 2021, at her home peacefully in Great Bend. She was born on July 20, 1962, at Seoul, South Korea to parents Dong Cheul and Kyung Rae Kang. She married Bruce Polkinghorne September 1, 1984 at Radcliff, Kentucky. They were married for 37 years.

A long-time Great Bend resident, Lisa worked in the cafeteria at Fuller Brush and most importantly, a stay-at-home mother. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed walking, exercising, knitting prayer shawls, and having coffee with her friends. Lisa especially loved spending time with her family.  

Survivors include, her husband Bruce Polkinghorne of the home; a son, Luke Polkinghorne of Grand Junction, Colorado; a daughter, Stacy Dobratz and husband Shaun of Great Bend; two brothers, David Cho of California and Kwong Yong Cho of Seaol, South Korea; two sisters, Chin Soon Mollohan of North Carolina, and Kum Ok Cho of Seoul, South Korea; two granddaughters, Mikkayla Kouba and Reese Dobratz; and another grandchild on the way. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Young Hoon and Jae Hoon. 

Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with family to receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Great Bend, with Pastors Chris Lehew and Julie Shields presiding. Inurnment will be in Great Bend Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorials have been designated to the Grandchildren’s Education Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
