LoRay D. George 1931 - 2015

ALBERT — LoRay D. George, 83, died Feb. 21, at Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in La Crosse. Born Sept. 1, 1931, in rural Albert he was the son of Herman “H. D.”  and Hilda “A. C.” (Tammen) George. On Aug. 21, 1959, he married Anna Mae Wheeler at Peace Lutheran Church in Albert.  She preceded him in death Feb. 3, 2002. A lifelong resident of Rush County he was a farmer.
Mr. George was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Peace Lutheran Church Council, and a life member of Peace Lutheran Church Cemetery Committee, all of Albert.  He was also a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7271 in Larned.
Survivors include, his son, LoRay W. George, and his wife, Kathryn George, of Albert; four daughters, Jill LeManske, and her husband, Derek LeManske, of Overland Park, Tacy Keener, and her husband, Jeff Keener, of Rush Center, Gail Sanders, and her husband, Steve Sanders, of La Crosse, Kansas, and Kara Jecha, and her husband, Jay Jecha, of Timken; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Laurel George, Lloyd George, and LaVern George; and two sisters, Irene Nagel, and Irma Ell.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church in Albert, with Pastor Laura Smith officiating. Interment will be at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery in Albert. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8  p.m. today at the Janousek Funeral Home in La Crosse, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 7 p.m.  A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. On Thursday visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. at the church. Memorials are suggested to Peace Lutheran Church in Albert, or Rush County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care in La Crosse, Kansas.
