Loretha Mae Brown 1922-2013

ELLINWOOD— Loretha Mae (Short) Brown, 90, died Aug. 9 at Ellinwood District Hospital.  Born Oct. 18, 1922 at Finley, Okla., she was the daughter of Ottis Denford Byrum and Clara Pauline Sipes.  On Oct. 3, she was married to Thomas T.J. Brown at Antlers, Okla.  He died on March 16, 1999.  Formerly of Hobbs, N.M., she was an Ellinwood resident since 1958.  She was a housewife and flower gardener.  She belonged to the Calvary Baptist Church in Ellinwood.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Joan) Brown, Raymond and her sister, Lois Deeds, Odessa, Texas.  She is also survived by two grandchildren, grandson, Travis (Heather) Brown, Penn., and granddaughter Jennifer (Dean) Mantz, Sterling; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton Mantz and Raegan Mantz, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at Calvary Baptist Church in Ellinwood, with Pastor Jason Winget officiating.  Family and friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, with the family present from 5 to 6 p.m., at Kimple Funeral Home, 113 North Main, Ellinwood.  Burial will be at Lakin-Comanche District Cemetery in Ellinwood.  Memorials are suggested to Calvary Baptist Church or Ellinwood Food Bank or St. Judes.
