RUSSELL — Loretta Margaret Ross, 89, of Russell, died June 7 at the Main Street Manor of Russell. Born Dec. 2, 1921, in Dubuque, she was the daughter of J. Henry and Philomena (Eckart) Casey. She graduated from Bunker Hill High School. On June 15, 1943, she married Leo J. Ross in Dubuque. He died on July 6, 1993. She was employed by Russell Regional Hospital for 19 years in medical records. She retired from the hospital in 1984.
Mrs. Ross was a member of St. Mary, Queen of Angels, Catholic Church in Russell and was on the Russell Council of Catholic Women and the Rosary Board.
Survivors include a sister Mary Weeks of Hoisington; a sister in-law Ann Casey of Great Bend; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Don Casey; and sister Vivian Cates.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the St. Mary, Queen of Angels, Catholic Church in Russell, with Father Charles Steier officiating. Recitation of the rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Friday before the service. Burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Russell. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Memorials may be given to the St. Mary’s Catholic Church Women’s Guild or Russell Regional Hospital, and sent in care of the mortuary.
