DODGE CITY — Lori Marie Truitt, 40, passed away Jan. 19, 2016, at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. She was born on Aug. 24, 1975, in Dodge City, the daughter of Glenn and Charlynn  (Brazda) Truitt.
Lori was a lifetime resident of Dodge City. She graduated from Dodge City High School in 1993. Lori went on to further her education as Amarillo Texas Pharmacy Technical College where she graduated at the top of her class in 2005. Lori worked at Burger King, Flying J, and baby-sat while going to school. She was a super feed truck driver in feedlots for many years in Kansas, Colorado, and Texas.  
Lori loved the cows and collected all kinds of them for her home, even hauling baby calves home in her car. She loved her cat Tucker, cross stitch sewing, making gifts, and sending birthday and holiday cards for everyone, not just at holidays but every day. Her sense of humor, laughter, compassion, and smile brought a smile and joy to many friends and family. She always had a smart remark that made you laugh, even when she was feeling ill. Lori always brought comfort and strength to many.
She is survived by her father Glenn Truitt and wife Joyce of Branson, Missouri; her mother, Charlynn Truitt of Dodge City; one brother, Dr. Todd Truitt and wife Lynda of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; her biological family, Evelyn and Lloyd Megason, Terry McKennon, Steven and Stephanie McKennon, Leisa Mauch and Rita Mowry; and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 25, at First Christian Church in Dodge City with Mr. Richard Crockett presiding. Burial will be at 2 p.m. at the Larned Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Swaim Funeral Home in Dodge City. Memorials are suggested to the Ford County EMS or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in care of the funeral home. Thoughts and memories may be shared in the online guest book at www.swaimfuneralhome.com.
