ELLINWOOD — Lorraine M. Petz, 96, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on Sept. 23, 2017. Born in Ellinwood to Edwin and Margaret (Klepper) Petz on May 23, 1921, she was a lifetime resident of Ellinwood. She worked as a sales clerk at J.C. Penney and as a waitress at numerous restaurants in Ellinwood and Great Bend. Lorraine loved to dance and was an avid card and bingo player.
She was a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, a member of the Altar Society, VFW Auxiliary, and the Heritage Club of Ellinwood.
She is survived by one brother, Robert Petz, of Ardmore, Okla.; as well as many caring nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Edwin and Margaret Petz; a sister, Laverna Herdt; and four brothers, Elmer, Frank, Edward and Ray Petz.
Visitation will be from 12-3 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 13, at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. A vigil service with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 15, also at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Ellinwood, at 10 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 16, with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Burial will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwod. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph’s Catholic Church or the Heritage Club (Bus fund) in care of the funeral home.
