HOISINGTON — Lottie Belle (Miss Lottie) Mitchell Jones Johnson was born March 31, 1920, at Puckett, Miss., the daughter of George Mitchell and Margaret McGilorey Mitchell. She moved to Hoisington (South Town) with her mother and her brother Lonnie Mitchell in 1932. She married Orland Jones in 1937. They later divorced. She then married Henry Johnson in 1946.

Before moving to Great Bend, she had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Hoisington. She then became a member of the AME church in Great Bend.

Miss Lottie was a beautiful human being who loved people and was much loved in return. She loved to laugh and entertain. She worked as a cook at several Great Bend restaurants. Her fried chicken was superb.

Survivors include two daughters, Reada Green, Bridget Johnson (adopted granddaughter) and husband Robert; one son, Jonathan Johnson; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; beloved niece and caregiver Margaret Mitchell Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Johnson; three sons, Vernon Leroy Jones, George Jones and Elmo Johnson; and one daughter, Margaret Jean Johnson.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington with Minister Theresa L. Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Hoisington Cemetery. Friends may call and view from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral Home, where family will be present from 6- 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to the Lottie B.
