Magdalene Josephine Bartonek 1917 - 2012

OLMITZ — Magdalene Josephine Bartonek, 95, died June 28 at Galichia Heart Hospital, Wichita. Born March 18, 1917, at Olmitz, she was the daughter of Joseph J. & Anna (Priesnitz) Nemlowill. She married Abe Bartonek Nov. 26, 1940, at Hoisington.  He died 1984. A lifelong Olmitz resident, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Bartonek was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church and altar society, Cardinal Senior Club, and Olmitz Senior Club.

Survivors include two sons, William “Tobe” Bartonek, Olmitz, and Tony Bartonek, Wichita; two daughters, JoAnn B. Hetrick and husband Bob, Wichita, and Pat Jones and husband Brian, Pittsburg; seven grandchildren and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, John Bartonek, and a brother, Ben Nemlowill.
Memorial Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, at St. Ann Catholic Church in Olmitz. Inurnment will be at St. Ann Cemetery, Olmitz. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A wake service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, followed by an altar society rosary at the church. Father Ultan Murphy is the officiant. Donations to a memorial fund for Clara Barton Hospital or St. Ann Catholic Church may be made in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
