Magdaline G. Reif 1921-2011

CLAFLIN — Magdaline G. Reif, 89, died June 28 at Larned Health Care Center.
She was born July 15, 1921 in Ellinwood, the daughter of Joseph and Marie (Wurm) Hirsh. On July 18, 1939 she married Frank J. Reif in Ellinwood. He died on Aug. 17, 1989. A longtime resident of Claflin, coming from Ellinwood, she was employed by Ell-Kan in Ellsworth and Fuller Brush in Great Bend.
Mrs. Reif was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and Altar Society, both of Claflin.
Survivors include a son, Frank (Bob) Reif, Claflin; a daughter, Donna Mackler,  Long Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Mary Jane Gibson, Wichita; and Lela Mae Blakely, Wilsonville, Ala.; and two grandchildren, Courtney D’Ovidio and Amy Mackler. She was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Claflin with Father Reggie Urban officiating. Burial will be at the Claflin Cemetery. Friends may visit from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home in Hoisington and from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic in Clalfin, with an Altar Society Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church or Claflin Ambulance Fund in care of the funeral home.
