Manuel Alejandro Castillo, 20, passed away February 3, 2021, at the University Of Kansas Health System - Great Bend Campus. He was born April 3, 2000, at Baton Rouge, La., to Jesus and Nora (Espino) Castillo. 

A Great Bend resident, Manuel was a current welding student at Tulsa Welding School. He enjoyed football, basketball, painting and cooking.  

Survivors include, his parents, Jesus and Nora Castillo of the home; three sisters, Vaneza Castillo and Nora Castillo, both of Great Bend, and Arais Castillo of Hays; a niece, Alyla Perez; and two nephews, Josue Castillo and Angel Solis. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Narcizo Castillo. 

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at Bryant Funeral Home, with Vigil service at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, with Father Don Bedore presiding. Interment will be in Great Bend Cemetery North. Memorials have been designated to the Manuel Castillo Funeral Expense Fund, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
