HUTCHINSON — Manuel Morales Delgado, 82, died November 29, 2019, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. He was born May 24, 1937, in Garden City, the son of Frank G. and Mary M. (Morales) Delgado. Manuel graduated from Holcomb High School in 1956 and attended Kansas City Community College.  

He served in the United States Air Force from 1959-1963. Manuel worked as a data processor for Data Center Inc. for 35 years. He enjoyed photography and attending craft shows and making and selling crafts. Manuel was a member of St. Teresa Catholic Church, where he loved helping with physical labor. He was a devoted father who would do anything for his children and loved helping with summer camps for children with disabilities.

On May 22, 1959, Manuel married Rosemary ‘Rose’ Rocha in Great Bend. They shared 60 years of marriage. She survives. 

Also surviving are: children, Theresa Sotomayor (Gilbert), Hutchinson, Thomas Delgado (Letty), Dallas, TX, Carol Vieyra (Andrew), Garland, TX, Christine Blea (Darin), Hutchinson, Angelia Delgado, Hutchinson; grandchildren Joseph Sotomayor, Thomas Sotomayor (Kristy), Jonathan Sotomayor (Lindsay), Andres Vieyra (Kate Brown), Dominic Vieyra, Andrea Vierya, Andrew Blea (Jennifer Zolman), Darin Blea (Teresa), Tito Delgado, Kristina Delgado; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Mares, Milliken, CO, Patti Lavato (Oliver), La Junta, CO, Raymond Delgado, Garden City, Illene Espinosa (Fernando), Wichita; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Manuel was preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Johnny, Norbert, Tony; sisters, Georgia Bruso, Christine Jarmillo, and Anita Mesa.

Parish Rosary will be 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2019, at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 211 E. 5th Ave., with Father Michael J. Maybrier and Nicholas Volker officiating. Burial will follow in Eastside Cemetery, with military honors conducted by the McConnell Air Force Base Honor Guard.  Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Sunday, with family present from 4-6 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.  Memorials are suggested to Faith and Light at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Disability Supports of the Great Plains, Delos V. Smith Senior Citizen Center, or Toys for Tots, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
