Manuel Palacio, Sr.

On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Manuel Palacio, Sr., father of 7 children passed away at the age of 85. Manuel was born on February 19, 1935 in Lamar, Colorado to Domingo and Margaret (Godinez) Palacio. 

Manuel was taken in by his Uncle Joe and Aunt Kate Saenz at a young age. He grew up to be a very skilled worker and took great pride in any work that he did. He excelled and found a passion for carpentry. He was part of a crew that would build homes in various cities. Manuel had a passion for woodworking, loved westerns, and football, especially the Broncos. He especially loved spending time with his family. 

Survivors include, five siblings, Jeannie, Kathy, Bobby, Larry and John; five children, Loretta, Manuel, Jr., Frederick, Sr., Susan and Jeff; 38 grandchildren, 88 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Margaret; three siblings, Sonny, Rosina and Frances; two sons, Ronny and Jesse; two grandsons, Michael and Mark; and two great grandchildren, Dominic and Michaela. 

The family would like to thank everyone that took care of him in his time of need. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 25, 2021 and 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021, with the family present, at Bryant Funeral Home. Rosary will be held at 12:30 p.m. followed by the service at 1:00 p.m. with Father Don Bedore presiding.  Interment will be in the Great Bend Cemetery. Masks and social distancing are required. A public livestream of the service will be available under Manuel’s obituary at www.bryantfh.net. Memorials have been designated to the American Cancer Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
