OLMITZ — Marcella Marie Maneth, 91, passed away July 5, 2020, at Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born April 12, 1929, in Great Bend to Edward Aloysius and Charlotte (Schneider) Riedel. Marcella married Leonard E. Maneth Sept. 29, 1948 in Olmitz. He died Feb. 9, 2002.
Marcella, a lifetime resident of Olmitz living a short while at Riverbend in Great Bend, was a devoted member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz. She was a homemaker and farmer, enjoying all aspects of farm life, especially the joys of raising chickens, milking cows, field work, butchering and cooking. Cherishing her time with family and friends, her door was always open to her loved ones.
Survivors include two sons, Edward C. Maneth and wife Kelly of Olmitz and David Maneth and wife Laura of Raytown, Mo.; three daughters, Diana Wilson of Kansas City, Mo., Jolene Dozier and husband Greg of Independence, and Mary Harbert and husband Gary of Kingman; two sisters, Mary Jo Schenk of Great Bend and Carol Ann Thomas of West Chester, Ohio; and 25 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her husband, and one son, Leonard E. Maneth Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 Thursday, July 9, 2020, at St. Ann Catholic Church, Olmitz, with Father Anselm Eke presiding. Interment will follow at St. Ann Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington, with the family receiving friends from 6 – 7 pm and an Altar Society Rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials may be given to St. Ann Cemetery Fund, in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, PO Box 146, Hoisington, KS 67544.
