Margaret E. Lipp 1927 - 2011

ALDEN — Margaret E. Lipp, 84, died July 11 at Sterling Presbyterian Manor. Born June 1, 1927 in Alden, she was the daughter of Harry E. and Rubye Muir Ward. She graduated from Alden High School in 1945 and received her bachelors degree in Education in 1949 from Sterling College. A lifetime resident of Alden, she was a retired teacher for the Quivira Heights School District in Holyrood. On Aug. 1, 1950 she married Chester Mervyn Lipp at the Alden United Methodist Church. He died on Jan. 14, 2002.

Mrs. Lipp was a member of the Alden United Methodist Church, NEA, AARP, KEA, Sweet Adalines and Red Hats.

Survivors include a daughter, Lesa Dechant and husband Jim of Brush, Colo.; and two grandchildren, A.J. and Jamie Dechant of Brush, Colo. She was preceded in death by a son, David Lipp.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Alden Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Stapleton. Burial will be at the Alden Valley Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Alden United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
