Margaret M. Miller, 97, died June 29, 2017, at Brookdale Senior Living, Great Bend. She was born Dec. 27, 1919, at Great Bend, the daughter of Edward James and Mary Marie (Mallory) Kirkman. She married Harry Hewitt Baker Feb. 26, 1944, at Tucson, Ariz. He died March 17, 1969. She then married Eldon Gene Miller Aug. 3, 1973, at Great Bend. He died Nov. 8, 2000. She was owner and operator of Kirkman Liquor Store. Mrs. Miller was a lifetime Great Bend resident.
She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Patrick Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
Survivors include one nephew, Roger Murphy and his wife Mary Lou of Great Bend; one niece, Jill Eliason and her husband Dan of Overland Park; and one niece-in-law, Karla Kirkman. She was preceded in death by one brother, K. W. “Pete” Kirkman, and one sister, Aletha L. Kirkman; and two nephews, Joseph Kirkman and Donald Kirkman.
Private services will be held at a later date with burial in Great Bend Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials in Mrs. Miller’s name have been established with Prince of Peace Parish, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
