Marge M. Watkins 1921 - 2015

Marge M. Watkins, 93, went to be with the Lord on Jan. 8, at Almost Home, Inc. in Great Bend. Born Aug. 30, 1921, in Dodge city, she was the daughter of Fred and Anna May (Lewis) Cummins. On Oct. 3, 1938, she married Henry F. Watkins in Dodge City. He died on Feb. 25, 1991. She and her husband owned Westlawn Salvage until 1956, when they moved to Great Bend. They then opened their new business, A & A Iron & Metal. She loved fishing, hunting, gardening, bowling, and bingo.
Mrs. Watkins was a member of Grace Community Church in Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Michael O. Watkins and his wife Dixie of Great Bend; one daughter, Judith M. Turnbull and her husband James L. of South Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Watkins, Craig Watkins, and Stacey Keas; and nine great-grandchildren, Evan Watkins, Lane Watkins, Jack Watkins, Emory Watkins, Devin Watkins, Cooper Watkins, Seth Keas, Jared Keas, and Amy Keas. She was preceded in death by five brothers, William M. Cummins, Freddie H. Cummins, Frankie B. Cummins, George R. Cummins, and Harry L. Cummins; and three sisters, Josephine Warfield, Estella Knobbe, and Bessie May Boyle.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Swain officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday at Greencrest Memorial Gardens in Dodge City. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Golden Belt Humane Society or Almost Home, Inc., in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
