Marianne Gear Zoller 1929 - 2014

LONG BEACH, Calif. — Marianne Gear Zoller passed away on Easter, April 20, 2014, at peace in the company of her loving family. She was born on Oct. 12, 1929, in Hutchinson, to oilman Raymond William and Elizabeth O’Neill Gear. She attended Hutchinson High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Kansas, where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She married oilman Henry (Hank) Eugene Zoller Jr., raised five children in Cherry Hills Village, Colo., and embarked on a successful real estate career with Garrett-Bromfield & Company until her retirement. Marianne later resided in Hoisington, Kan.; Centennial, Colo.; and Long Beach, Calif.
She loved life, animals, and treasured her time with family and friends. Marianne was a devoted Christian, traveled widely, and worked tirelessly in support of causes about which she cared deeply. She was a highly regarded member of the Denver community, known for her generosity, fundraising and volunteer efforts on behalf of several charities.
Marianne is survived by sons Henry (Hank) Eugene Zoller lV and wife Aspasia (Sya) of Franklin, Tenn., and Austin Texas; Jeffrey (Jeff) Raymond Zoller and wife Jettie of Hoisington; Todd Andrew Zoller and wife Kathleen of Centennial Colo.; and daughter Michelle (Missy) Nocera and husband Anthony of Long Beach Calif. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Ashley Young of West Hills Calif., Andrew (Ace) Christopher Elliott of Morgan Calif., Nikou Zoller of New York City, N.Y., Ryan Zoller of Salina, Brooke Mann of Dallas, Texas, Anthony J. Nocera III of Long Beach Calif., Henry Alexander (Alex) Zoller of Franklin Tenn. and Austin Texas; and great-grandson Benjamin Young of West Hills Calif. Marianne was preceded in death by her daughter Monique Zoller, grandson Christopher Andrew Elliott, and her brothers oilmen Raymond James (Jim) Gear of Wichita and George Lewis Gear of Denver, Colo.
Marianne was loving, kind and generous to everyone she knew. In her honor, a memorial will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Fairmont Chapel, 430 South Quebec St., Denver, Colo. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to one of Marianne’s favorite charities: American Cancer Society, 2255 S. Oneida St., Denver, Colo.; Denver Dumb Friends League (animal rescue), 2080 South Quebec St., Denver, Colo.; and Colorado Foundation of Conductive Education, 1760 Topaz Drive, Loveland, Colorado.
