HOXIE — Marie E. Brown, 90, of Hoxie, died Jan. 23 at the Sheridan County Long Term Care in Hoxie. She was born Sept. 19, 1920, to Peter J. and Emma (Sitz) Schneider at WaKeeney. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Hoxie.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip E. Brown, in 1987. Survivors include two sons, Phillip E. Brown Jr. of Tampa, Fla., and Charles J. Brown and wife Jan of Great Bend; a daughter, Bonnie C. Brown of Denver, Colo.; three grandchildren, including Stacey and husband Dan Taylor of Olathe and Michelle and husband Troy Daubert of Great Bend; and 10 great-grandchildren, including Katie, Scott and Emma Taylor and Evan, Miya and Megyn Daubert.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the Mickey-Leopold Funeral Home Chapel, Hoxie, with burial following in the Hoxie Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sheridan County Long Term Care, Hoxie.
