Marie Elaine Drewel, 71, passed away Feb. 15, 2023, at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. She was born on August 26, 1951, in  Great Bend to Eugene & Okla (Dixon) Addington. She married Tom G. Drewel, Sept. 28, 1968, in Great Bend.

A lifetime Great Bend resident, Marie was an MHDD at Larned State Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Post #180 and the Legion Riders of Great Bend, the Patriot Guard and Bikers of Central Kansas (BOCK). She and her husband were Mr. and Mrs. Claus for the Men’s Motorcycle Club Toy Run, for 40 years and passed out ornaments to surrounding hospitals for BOCK. Marie especially loved spending time with her family and riding her trike.

Survivors include, her son, Tommy Drewel and wife Kristi of Great Bend; a daughter, Anneda Mossberg and husband Shawn of Ellinwood; a brother, Jimmy Addington of Ellinwood; a sister, Mary Rose Lauber of Great Bend; four grandchildren, Chris Julian and wife Bailie, Melissa Sanders, Mackenzie Drewel and Madison Drewel; and a great granddaughter, Adleigh Julian. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Tom G. Drewel, Sr.; her daughter, Tammy Drewel; a brother, Bobby Addington; and a sister, Rossie Lauber.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. - 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, with the family receiving guests from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2023, at Bryant Funeral Home with Reverend Dick Ogle presiding. Interment will follow at the Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials have been designated to the American Legion Post #180, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
