GREAT BEND — Marilyn E. Amerine, 73, of Great Bend, passed away Thursday morning, Dec. 13, 2012 at her home in Great Bend.  
Marilyn was born March 4, 1939 at Rexford, the daughter of Howard Wesley and Barbara Ethel (Gilbert) Cousins.  
She attended school at Goodland. She was united in marriage to Marvin Ray Amerine July 9, 1956 at La Crosse. The couple moved to Great Bend, then to Ellinwood where they lived for 33 years. They returned to Great Bend in 2005. Marilyn loved to work in her flower garden and enjoyed decorating their home.  She also loved crocheting and painting craftwork, feeding the birds and squirrels. But most importantly, she truly loved her family.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin R. Amerine, Great Bend; four sons, Timothy Amerine, Great Bend; Randall Amerine and his wife Ruth, Lawrence; Douglas Amerine and his wife, Melanie, Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Craig Amerine and his wife, Lou, Lawrence; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn W. Cousins and his wife, Carol, Greenville, Texas.  
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her three brothers, Donald, Robert, and Darrell Cousins, and a sister, Shirley McConnell.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Charter Funerals in Great Bend with Pastor Rick Standlee officiating. Interment will be in the Lakin Commanche District Cemetery at Ellinwood. Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and until service time on Monday at the funeral home.
