HUTCHINSON — Marilyn J. Cleveland, 80, died Sept. 24, 2015, at Wellington Health and Rehab. Born Dec. 16, 1934, in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Elton and Dorthea (Gregg) Nickel. In 1952, she graduated from Great Bend High School. On Sept. 30, 1956, she married Don Cleveland in Great Bend. He survives. She was a manager for Southwestern Bell and AT&T.
Mrs. Cleveland was a member of Beta Sigma Phi, Telephone Pioneers, Women’s Auxiliary of the Hutchinson News, and Women of the Moose Hutchinson Chapter No. 1371.
Other survivors include a daughter, Brenda Wandling and husband Todd, of Sugar Land, Texas; son, Curtis Cleveland of Hutchinson; half-sister, Janet Welsch of Dallas, Texas; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Marlene Nelson.
Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at Elliott Chapel with Pastor Andy Addis officiating. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday at Elliott Mortuary in Hutchinson. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time Saturday at Elliott Chapel. Memorials are suggested to Gentiva Hospice, in care of the funeral home.
