Marion N. Thul    1952 - 2015

GALVA — Marion N. Thul, 63, formerly of McPherson, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, at his home in Galva. Born on September 6, 1952, in Great Bend, he was the son of Maurice F. and Maxine W. (Strodtmann) Thul. In 1971, he graduated from Ellinwood High School. On June 17, 2005, Marion was united in marriage to Sara K. (Carpenter) Foster in Las Vegas, Nev. He worked in the plastics industry and was a ranch manager and heavy equipment operator. Marion was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.  
Mr. Thul was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #2715 Men’s Auxiliary where he served as Past President. He also was a member of Knights of Columbus and Life Member of A.B.A.T.E. District 9.
Survivors include, his wife, Sara of the home; sons, Jeremy Thul and Travis Thul and wife, Chelsea, both of McPherson; mother, Maxine Thul of Ellinwood; two grandsons, Carter and Maddox Thul and a granddaughter on the way; siblings, Maureen Bohlander and husband, Steve, of Ottawa, and Mark Thul and wife, Nancy, of Great Bend; his dog, Klaus; and four cats, Frisky, Larry, Curly and Moe. He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice; and sister, Marla Stucky.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, at the V.F.W. Post #2715 in McPherson. Memorial donations may be given to Wounded Warrior Project or McPherson County Toys for Kids in care of Stockham Family Funeral Home, 205 North Chestnut, McPherson, KS 67460.
