Marjorie (Maneth) Thomas 1935 - 2023

Marjorie (Maneth) Thomas passed away on May 25th, 2023 at Ellinwood Hospital. Born on January 4, 1935 in Hoisington, KS she was the daughter of Arthur & Mary (Bush) Maneth. Marjorie grew up in Olmitz, KS working alongside her father she learned how to farm and work cattle. She attended Catholic school in Olmitz later graduating from Otis High School in 1954. Marjorie married Robert Thomas in January of 1958 in Olmitz they were married for 64 years before he passed away in 2021. They worked side by side on the farm where she did it all from raising kids and later grandkids, cooking, and cleaning to driving the wheat truck well into her 80s and working cattle.

Survivors include sons, John Thomas and Danny Thomas; daughters, Joan McNett and Sharon Reichuber; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren and one on the way. Marjorie was preceded in death by husband Robert Thomas, son-in-laws, Gerald Reichuber and Raymond McNett; siblings, Arthur Maneth, Mary Ann Wondra, Beatrice Schneweis and two grandchildren, Alex Thomas & Ashley Reichuber.

Funeral Mass will take place 10:30 a.m. Wed., May 31 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ellinwood, KS with Father Terrance Klein officiating. Interment will follow at Lakin-Comanche Cemetery in Ellinwood. Visitation will take place 12-5 p.m. with Altar Society Rosary at 3 p.m. Tues., May 30 at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood. Vigil service will take place that evening 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to Ellinwood Hospital Foundation or St. Joseph Church in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
