OTIS — Martha Louise Batman, 80, passed away on Jan. 31, 2022, at Via Christ St. Francis, Wichita, Kan. She was born on April 18, 1941, at Codell, Kan., to Stewart and Josie Edna (VanHouton) McAdoo. Martha married Charles Batman on April 1, 1960, at Russell, Kan.
A life-time area resident in Barton, Russell, and Rush counties, she worked for years as a custodian in USD 403. Martha was a member of the United Methodist Church in Otis, Kan.
Survivors include her husband of the home; a son Brian (Cindy) Batman of Great Bend, Kan.; a daughter, Shelly (Chuck) Nelson of Blue Eye, Mo.; six grandchildren, Jessica Berg, Melissa Berg (Matt), Charlie (Shelby) Nelson, Joshua (Caitlin) Nelson, Sam (Anna) Nelson, Zach (Anna) Nelson; 15 great-grandchildren, Maddyson, Havyn, Shaili, Triston, Taybree, Kirstyn, Mason, Maddux, Hayden, Hallie, Braydon, Kailyn, Ryker, Talynn, Theo; five sisters, Josie Doty of Russell, Kan., Evelyn Monroe of McPherson, Kan., Ruby Coleman and Mary Pollock, both of Oklahoma, and Edna Coyle of Topeka, Kan.; two brothers, Bill McAdoo and Larry McAdoo, both of Russell, Kan. She is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alice Zordel; and two brothers, Leslie McAdoo and Stewart McAdoo.
There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 11, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Gray presiding. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Shriners Children’s Hospital, in care of Bryant Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.bryantfh.net.
