Marvin E. Bieberle

Marvin Edward Bieberle, 81, passed away on Monday morning, July 27, 2020 at his home in Great Bend, Kansas surrounded by family.  He was born in Great Bend, Kansas to Nick and Rose (Schartz-Ewald) Bieberle of Ellinwood, KS.  He graduated from Ellinwood High School in 1957, and served in the U.S. Army upon graduation, spending several years in Germany.  He married Margaret R. Gerritzen on April 24, 1965 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend.  He drove truck all his life, employed by Mid-Continent LP, Marlette Homes and retired after 25 years with Koch Industries.  Marvin was very proud of his manicured lawn, and enjoyed watching the grass grow just so he could mow it again.  He also dearly loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. 

Marvin is survived by his wife, Margaret R. “Marge” Bieberle of Great Bend, Kansas; two daughters, Debra D. Stephens (Steve) of Hoisington, Kansas and Melinda K. Alexander (Wyn) of Byron, Minnesota; three sons, Michael D. Bieberle (Kelley) of Salina, Kansas, Terry J. Bieberle (Kristy) of El Dorado, Kansas, Scott E. Bieberle (Pamela) of Hoisington, Kansas; sixteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters: Bernadine Overman of Scottsbluff, Nebraska and Corrine Batchman of Ellinwood, Kansas; three brothers:  Jerome Ewald (Elvera) of Wichita, Kansas, Ron Bieberle (Paula) of Ellinwood, Kansas, and Floyd Bieberle (Peggy) of Derby, Kansas. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Joyce Leiker, three brothers:  Robert Ewald, Norbert Bieberle, and Gordon Bieberle; two grandchildren:  Megan Michelle Crawford and Ian R. Shuey. 

Cremation has been chosen.  Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 31, 2020 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Great Bend, Kansas with Father Don Bedore officiating.  Inurnment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery north of Great Bend. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to GPS Kids Club at Hoisington, Kansas or Prince of Peace Parish at Great Bend, Kansas.  Online condolences may be left for the family and a full obituary notice may be viewed at http://www.chartergreatbend.com
