Marvin E. Schremmer, 77, passed away Dec. 9, 2020, at Hays Medical Center. He was born July 27, 1943, at Hoisington, to Frank and Irene (Driscoll) Schremmer. He married Carol Kraft Nov. 27, 1997, at Great Bend. She survives.
A lifetime Barton County resident, Marvin was the manager for Western Supply for 33 years. He worked for Gressel Oilfield Services for 15 years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Lake Barton Golf Course. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, dancing, traveling, KU basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs. He especially loved spending time with his family and being a grandpa.
Survivors include, his wife Carol Schremmer of the home; a son, Jeff Hodges and wife Sara of Bennington; four daughters, Michelle Schremmer-Appel of Bonner Springs, Deby Pearson and husband Gary of Independence, Joleen Clark and husband Dan of Winfield, and Regina Livengood and husband Jeff of Larned; three brothers, Wayne Schremmer and wife Theresa of Wichita, Leonard Schremmer and wife Nancy of Denver, Colo., and Dick Schremmer and wife Janice of Derby; a sister, Delores “Dee” Volpert and husband Stephen of Great Bend; nine grandchildren, Aaron, Aricka, Alexadra, Chris, Ian, Abby, Olivia, Logan, and Braden; and five great grandchildren, Ziggy, Adilyn, Arylin, Jack, and Aspyn. He was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Alvin, Tom, and Melvin Schremmer.
Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m., Monday, Dec. 14, 2020, at Bryant Funeral Home with family to receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 15, 2020, at First Assembly of God Church in Great Bend, with Pastor Dwight Dozier presiding. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Beaver. Memorials are designated to the Lake Barton Golf Course or Assembly of God Missions, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
