VICTORIA — Mary Jane (Weigel) Miller, 85, died March 29 at her home in Victoria. She was born April 1, 1927, in Victoria, to Joseph C. and  Catherine (Paul) Weigel. She married Gilbert J. Miller on Feb. 1, 1949, in Victoria. He died April 15, 2006.
She was a food prep for Hadley Hospital and Fort Hays State College for a number of years. She  worked at Travenol for 10 years and retired in 1986. In her early years she was a cook at the Catherine Grade School at Catherine.
Mrs. Miller was a member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, both of Victoria. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and caregiver for husband of 57 years.
Survivors include one son, Marion Miller and wife Rhonda, Victoria; one daughter, Patricia “Patti” Grabbe and husband Jim, Victoria; one brother, Anthony “Tony” Weigel and wife Jan, Overland Park; four sisters, Velma Giebler, Hays, Leona Kuhn and husband Clinton, Great Bend, and Shirley Weigel and Doris Weigel, both Victoria; two sisters-in-law, Beverly Weigel, Blue Springs, Mo., and Flora Weigel, Great Bend; five grandchildren, Scott Grabbe, Shala Grabbe and companion Ronnie Sartain, Cassandra Wright and husband, Desmond, Caralee Bautista, and Camarynn Nelson and husband, Adam; and six great-grandchildren, Dominic and Daimian Wright, Ceri and Elora Bautista, and Evan Nelson and Mason Sartain. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; four brothers, Michael, Donald, Robert and Joseph Weigel; and one sister, Louise Weigel.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 5, at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.  Burial will be in  St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria. Vigil service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, followed by a Victoria VFW Auxiliary memorial service and rosary at 7:30 p.m., both at Cline’s Mortuary, 412 Main, Victoria. Visitation will be from  4-9 p.m. Thursday and from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, all at the mortuary. Memorials are suggested to St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.
