LARNED — Mary Louise Shottenkirk, 95, died December 23, 2020 at Kansas City Hospice House, Kansas City, Missouri.

She was born May 31, 1925 to Daniel Ward and Eva Blanche (Hallett) Andrews at the Larned, Kansas home. She married Gerald Jay Shottenkirk August 8, 1943 and they lived in Pawnee County for 59 years. He died September 19, 2002. 

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Anne Toll and her husband, Perry, Gravois Mills, Missouri, and Linda Sidney Ideker and her husband, Welton, Rozel, Kansas, and a son Jay Craig Shottenkirk and his wife, Sheila, Great Bend, Kansas, six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and a brother-in-law, Helen and Walter Losey, a brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Lollie Andrews.

She retired from Larned State Hospital with thirty-one years of service. She was a lifetime member of the Larned United Methodist Church, she was a past member of United Methodist Women, Order of the Eastern Star, Li-Ar-Mu Club, St. Joseph Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Pawnee County Humane Society. She was a Sunday School Teacher and a Girl Scout Leader.

A private family graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at Garfield Cemetery, Garfield, Kansas with Bob Sallee presiding. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned and the casket will remain closed.
