ODIN – Mary M. Wondra, 92, died April 12, at Great Bend Regional Medical Center. Born Oct. 12, 1922, in Odin, she was the daughter of Joseph V. and Frances M. (Tinkel) Jenisch. She graduated from Odin High School. On April 29, 1946, she married William Wondra in Odin. He died Nov. 13, 1996. A lifetime resident of the Odin and Claflin area, she was a homemaker.
Mary was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and St. Ann’s Altar Society.
Survivors include, three children, Ron Wondra and wife Betty of Concordia, Allan Wondra and wife Shirley of Tulsa, Okla., and Rosalie Kinzel and husband Mike of Claflin; 10 grandchildren, Sherry Werth, Christopher Wondra, Trenton Wondra, Corey Wondra, Jared Wondra, Bradley Wondra, Elizabeth Gruis, Jessica Camp, Theresa Detrixhe, and Christina Doyle; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her four brothers, Arthur, Joseph, Frank, and Albert Jenisch; six sisters, Olivia Debes, Frances Zorn, Gertrude Gerritzen, Anna Boor, Hilda Ille, Eleanor Ille; and a great-granddaughter, Isabelle Gruis.
Vigil service with rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin celebrated by Father Louis Trung Dinh Hoang and Father Pascal Klein. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. today at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Statue Restoration Fund, Claflin Ambulance or St. Ann’s Altar Society in care of the funeral home.
