Mathias 'Matt' Boor 1918-2013

ODIN — Mathias “Matt” Boor, 94, died May 15, 2013 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Aug. 30, 1918 at rural Odin, the son of Nicholas and Anna (Birzer) Boor.
He married Margaret Axman Sept. 9, 1941 at Olmitz. She died March 18, 2006. Mr. Boor was a farmer and a lifetime Barton County resident. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and Holy Name Society, all of Odin. He enjoyed farming, his animals and tinkering in the shop. He was devoted to his faith and family.
Survivors include a son, Larry Boor, Great Bend; three daughters, Loretta Finger and her husband Robert, Hoisington; Judy Conley and her husband Kirby, Wichita; Donna Bates, Hoisington; 12 grandchildren and 16
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Jim Boor and Gerry Boor; two brothers, five sisters, a daughter-in-law, Doreen Boor; and a son-in-law, Gary Bates.
Vigil Service with Knights of Columbus Rosary is scheduled at 7 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Odin with Con-celebrants Father Charles Mazouch and Father Francis Oroffa. Interment will be at Holy Family Cemetery, Odin.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, 415 N. Main, Hoisington.
