HOISINGTON — Maurice “Bryce” Clark, 77, died March 30, at Cherry Village Residential Care in Great Bend. Born May 20, 1937, in Penokee, he was the son of John George and Margaret Elizabeth Clark. In 1955, he graduated from Hill City High School. He later served in the Army from 1960 to 1962. A Hoisington resident since 1962, he worked as a trackman for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad retiring in 1999. On June 1, 1985, he married Betty “JoAnn” Mullis at the First United Methodist Church in Hoisington. She survives.
Mr. Clark was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hoisington.
Other survivors include, three children, Douglas Clark and Brenda Ramey and fiancée Kevin Woods, both of Great Bend, and Bryan Clark and wife Susan of Hutchinson; six stepchildren, Karla McConnell and husband Weldon of Salina, Cyndi King of Hoisington, James Roy “J.R.” Chelf, Jamie Miller and husband Kevin of Great Bend, Chuck “Brad” Ballard of Kingston, Wash, and Deb Ballard of Topeka; a brother, John Clark of Hoisington; four sisters, Shirley Hilburn of Hill City, Billye Yowell of Delphos, Patty Covalt of Riley, and Marles Miller of Locust Grove, Va.; 27 grandchildren; and 26 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Douglas, Dwight and Charles Clark; and a sister, Enid.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kris Brinlee presiding. Friends may sign the book 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Golden Belt Humane Society in care of the funeral home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net
