Maxine “Max” Sherman

Maxine “Max” Sherman, 66, passed away Jan. 29, 2023 at KU Med Center in Kansas City, Kan. Maxine was born April 26, 1956 at Gove County Hospital in Quinter, Kan. to Titus and Matilda (Herzog) Kuntz. Maxine was a graduate of Wheatland High School in Grainfield and continued education at Barton County College in Great Bend, Kan. Maxine enjoyed being around her close friends and family and it seemed like she always had a way to make them smile or laugh. Her main passion in life was her family. Maxine and Don were blessed with two children who meant more to her than anyone could imagine. Raising children and being so close to them both throughout their lives gave her happiness. Two precious grandchildren from daughter Audrey made her dreams come true. Maxine’s life was complete being close and helping with the grandchildren. She is now sitting next to her son, Andrew, in heaven.

Maxine is survived by her husband of 44 years Don of Americus; one daughter Audrey Sherman Crumbliss and husband Conner Crumbliss, grandchildren Charlie and Lilly of Emporia; four sisters Caroline Vonfeldt, Nancy Jane Kuntz O.P., Shirley and husband Don Pundsack, Roma Lea and husband George Michel; and brother-in-law Larry Boor. Also many nieces and nephews. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; sister Doreen Boor; and her beloved son Andrew.
