MEDICINE LODGE — Michael D. Lynch, 62, died June 27, 2021, at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital. He was born Jan. 30, 1959, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Thomas B. and Betty I. (Middleton) Lynch. Mike graduated from Great Bend High School in 1977.

On Nov. 11, 1978, he married Kathy J. Ricke at the Trinity Baptist Church, Hoisington, Kan. 

A resident of Medicine Lodge since 1996, Mike was a retired field technician for Targa Resources. He was also the owner and bartender for Mike’s Sports Bar in Medicine Lodge until 2012. Mike was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #6618 of Medicine Lodge.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Kathy J. Lynch; and three children, Christopher A. Lynch and wife Casey of Springfield, Ohio, Michael D. Lynch Jr. of Medicine Lodge, and Karen J. Lynch and fiancé Greg Sader of Wichita; his mother, Betty Lynch of Great Bend; a brother, Thomas Lynch and wife Merrilee of Wichita; four sisters, Mary Johnson and husband Kelly of Oak Grove, Mo., Elizabeth Wooldridge and husband Don of Stillwater, Okla., Chris Talbert and husband Larry of Great Bend, and Sheryl Lynch of Great Bend; five grandchildren, Madyson, Braedon and Gracyn Lynch, and Matthew and McKinnley Piper. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas B. Lynch; and a sister, Karen J. Lynch.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday at Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home, Hoisington. Family will greet friends at 6 p.m. Wednesday with Rosary to begin at 7 p.m. at First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 1, 2021, First Christian Church, Medicine Lodge, with Pastor Tom Walters presiding. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.
