LARNED – Michael P. Bartz, 45, died July 10 at Great Bend Regional Hospital. Born July 10, 1968, in Columbus, Neb., he was the son of Melvin and Carol Walsh Bartz. On April 20, 1991, he married Sandra Ashley in Larned. She survives. He was the owner of Bartz Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning.
Mr. Bartz was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He coached Larned Jr. Football along with wrestling, baseball, soccer and Sacred Heart basketball. He was also a chairman for the Buildings and Trades board for the City of Larned.
Other survivors include three sons, Jeromy, Brandon and Trevor Bartz, all of the home; mother, Carol Bartz-Eaton, of Salina; four brothers, Rodney of Wichita, Randy of Salina, Arlan of  Vero Beach, Fla., and Jeff of Olathe; and three sisters, Karla Bartz of Salina, Theresa Medina of Larned and Angela Lyon of Salina. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Bartz; and a brother, Joey Bartz.
Vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12, at Beckwith Mortuary in Larned. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Larned, with Father Warren Stecklein presiding. Burial will be at the Larned Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the Bartz Children Educational Fund in care of the funeral home.
