Milton M. Meyer 1926 - 2015

ELLINWOOD Milton M. Meyer, 88, passed away at Woodhaven Care Center in Ellinwood on Jan. 5.  Born on the family farm on Sept. 15, 1926 near Ellinwood, he was the son of Fred and Dena (Siefkes) Meyer.
He was a farmer and a cattleman who lived his entire life on the home place where he was born. Milton married his sweetheart, Joyce (Schrader) Meyer on July 22, 1951 in Ellinwood. He was a very active member of the First Baptist Church and was always proud to support the local school system. Milton was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Meyer who died on Feb. 14, 2008; his parents; brother, Fred Meyer; and sister, Mildred Pauls.
Survivors include son, Dan Meyer (Kathy) Wichita; daughters: Carolyn Schneider (Lee) Ellinwood, Sharon Sturgis, Ellinwood, Janell Meyer, Gypsum, Colo.; brothers: Don Meyer (Donna) Garden City, Bob Meyer (Marilyn) Garden City, and Rich Meyer (Jean) Hutchinson. Other survivors include nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Friday, Jan. 9 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church south of Ellinwood. A visitation is scheduled for Jan. 8 from 2-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel in Ellinwood with family receiving friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorials are suggested to the North American Baptist Missions, Heifer International, or Ellinwood Public Education and Library Foundation in care of Minnis Chapel, PO Box 246, Ellinwood, KS 67526.
