Nadine Dreiling 1933-2014

Nadine Dreiling, 81, died October 10, 2014, at Hays Medical Center, Hays. She was born June 25, 1933, in Neck City, Mo., the daughter of George and Vera Sargent Moore. A resident of Great Bend since 1954, moving from Chase, she and her husband owned and operated Don’s Food Mart, and she retired from Dillons Pharmacy.

She belonged to Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, the Altar Society, and the Daughters of Isabella, all at Great Bend. She loved her grandchildren and watching sports, especially the University of Kansas Jayhawks, and the New York Yankees.

On October 2, 1954, she married Donald A. Dreiling, at Chase. He died November 11, 2010. Survivors include: a son, Don E., Great Bend; two daughters, Janet Schwamborn and her husband Ken, Great Bend, and Sheryl Schamaun and her husband Steve, Great Bend; two sisters, Joy Turek, South Haven, and Opal Siebrandt, Chase; six grandchildren, Jason Dreiling, Wichita, Zachary Schamaun and his wife Lauren, Overland Park, Ryan Schwamborn and his wife Crystal, Wichita; Brian Dreiling and his wife Jenna, Great Bend, Kyle Dreiling, Great Bend, and Nicholas Schamaun, Overland Park; six great-grandchildren, Chase Dreiling, Gage Dreiling, Carter Dreiling, Cooper Dreiling, Jackson Schwamborn, and Connor Schwamborn; and a special granddaughter, Erin Dreiling, Great Bend. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvis Moore, Floyd Moore, and Terry Moore, and a sister, Bea Gilmore.

Altar Society Rosary will be at 4:00 p.m., and Vigil Service with Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2014, both at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, October 13, 2014, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Ted Stoecklein as celebrant. Friends may call from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Sunday, October 12, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Great Bend Cemetery. Memorials may be sent to Prince of Peace Parish or the Great Bend Recreation Scholarship Fund, both in care of the funeral home.
