Nita Elsie (Peterson) Mohr of Great Bend, passed away on October 21, 2022, at University of Kansas Health Systems – Great Bend. She was born on October 22, 1943, at Great Bend, to Clarence Theodore and Jenny Elsie (Marsh) Peterson.
Nita, a lifetime resident of Great Bend, was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing for her family and others. She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Center, bowling, golfing, traveling, camping and fishing, and always looking for a bargain at garage sales. She loved and adored her chihuahuas.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; one son, Ronald Wayne (companion Brenda Worley); two granddaughters, Shelby Payne (Dane Walker) of Lubbock, Tex., and Calie (John) Payne of Boulder, Colo.; a son-in-law, John Payne of Joshua, Tex.; and one great-grandson, Nixon Walker.
Nita is preceded in death by her daughter, Rhonda Lynn Payne; her twin sister, Rita Mae Roblyer; her brother, Clarence “Pete” Peterson; and her parents.
Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2022, at Bryant Funeral Home, with the family receiving guests from 5-6 p.m. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2022, at Central Baptist Church with Pastor Charlotte Maxwell presiding.
