LARNED – Nola Jean Gross, 89, passed away Feb. 23, 2023 at Diversicare of Larned.
She was born Aug. 21, 1933 in La Crosse, the daughter of Leslie A. and Clara Elmore Deighton Sr.
A lifetime area resident, she was a bank teller at First State Bank in Larned. She was a member of First Christian Church, First Christian Women, VFW Auxiliary, Ladies Golf, and Ladies Bowling Association, all of Larned.
On June 15, 1952 she married William L. “Bill” Gross at Larned; he preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2018.
Survivors include: son, Steven (Brenda) Gross, Larned; son-in-law, Jerel Hagerman, Yucca Valley, Calif.; seven grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; daughter, Cindy Hagerman; four brothers, Robert Deighton, Jim Deighton, Ned Deighton, Leslie Deighton Jr.; and four sisters, Juanita Skelton, Della Skelton, Elaine Bantz, and LaDayne Burger.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023 at Beckwith Mortuary, Larned with Pastor Damon Bradley presiding. Visitation will be 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 at Beckwith Mortuary with family present from 5 - 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery.
