Norma Jean (Boxberger) Schwien 1932 - 2014

RUSSELL — Norma Jean (Boxberger) Schwien, 81, of rural Russell, passed away Aug. 27, at her residence. Born Nov. 24, 1932, at the family home in northeast Ellis County, she was the daughter of Edward and Pauline (Mai) Boxberger. She grew up in the Ellis County area and attended the Pleasant Dale School District #99. She later obtained her G.E.D. On Jan. 7, 1951, she was united in marriage to Leonard Larry Schwien in Russell. He preceded her in death on Aug. 15, 2007. She was a homemaker.  
Mrs. Schwien was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include, her son, Stan Schwien of Russell; three daughters, Marcie Juergensen of Great Bend, Belinda Petty of L.J., Ga., and Brenda Keffer of Russell; three brothers, Dennis Boxberger of Otis, Kenny Boxberger of Salina, and Arlyn Boxberger of Great Bend; a sister, Frances Hoffman of Gorham; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Stewart; one brother; two sisters; and a grandson.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Trinity United Methodist Church with Pastor John Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time on Thursday at the church.  Graveside service and burial of ashes will be held at 10 a.m. on Sept. 9, at the Russell City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Trinity United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
