ST. JOHN — Norma Lee (Parten) Bright, age 92 passed away on Oct. 5, 2022 at Legend Senior Living, Hutchinson, Kan. She was born on Sept. 30, 1930 at Kembro, Kan., the daughter of Carl and Ruth Ione (Mann) Parten. She was a homemaker and long- time resident of St. John, Kan.
Her memberships included First Baptist Church, Mothers Club, Red Hats and Hesperian Club.
On June 27, 1948 she married John Russell Bright at Beaver, Kan., he passed away on Feb. 2, 2015.
Survivors include two sons, Mike (Alicia) Bright, Napa, Calif., Keith (Kathleen) Bright, Hutchinson, Kan.; four daughters, Connie (Bruce) Carey, Sterling, Kan., Carol (Don) McLeod, Carthage, Mo., Coette (Robert) Lewis, Wichita, Kan., Carmen (Steven) Hamilton, Northville, Mich.; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Jan Parten, St. John, Kan.; and a host of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell; three brothers, Wayne, Kenneth and Marvin Parten.
Visitation will be on Friday, Oct. 14, 2022 from 1-7 p.m. at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with family present from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 15, 2022 at Minnis Chapel, St. John, Kan., with Reverend Ray Davidson presiding. Memorials may be given to The Ida Long Goodman Memorial Library Children’s Department in care of Minnis Chapel, P.O. Box 34, St. John, KS 67576.
