AMARILLO, Texas — Odessa Mills, 93, died Oct. 20 at Ellinwood District Hospital, Ellinwood. She was born Sept. 16, 1917, at Lockney, Texas, the daughter of Richard Warren and Girlie Hewett Thomas. She married Vernon Mills on Dec. 23, 1951, at Boise City, Okla. He died Aug. 15, 1988. She was an Ellinwood resident since 2006, formerly of Amarillo and Lubbock, Texas, and Pueblo and Denver, Colo. She managed the camera department at Skaggs Drug in Pueblo and in Amarillo, from 1959 to 1981. She was in sales for more than 20 years.

Mrs. Mills was a member of Paramount Terrace Church in Amarillo, Texas.

Survivors include a son, Karlyn Mills, of the Phillippines; a half sister, Roberta Heiman of Amistad, N.M.; a nephew, Lloyd Kurtz of Ellinwood; and four grandchildren.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Llano Cemetery in Amarillo, Texas, with the Rev. Roy Wheeler officiant. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Kimple Funeral Home, Ellinwood. Memorials are suggested to the Immanuel United Church of Christ and the Ellinwood Area Health Care Foundation.
