HOISINGTON —Opal C. DeMoss, 98, died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at Locust Grove Village in LaCrosse. She was born Oct. 13, 1915 at Nowata, Okla., the daughter of William and Sarah (Estes) Tate.
Opal, a homemaker, moved to Hoisington in 1975 from Anderson, Mo. She enjoyed sightseeing with her husband, painting, crocheting, and gardening flowers.
She married Charles Russell DeMoss on April 17, 1934 at Nowata, Okla.
Survivors include two sons, Vernon DeMoss of Hoisington, and Phil DeMoss of Hoisington; one daughter, Susie Hansuld and husband Chuck of Kansas City, Mo.; son-in-law, Mike Loreg, Jr. of Hoisington; fourteen grandchildren, Sheri Hays and husband Ron of Salina, Mike Loreg, III and wife Brenda of Attica, Loree Boyle and husband Bill of St. John, Debbie Merrill and husband Sid of Buffalo, Wyo., Bill Wells and wife Bonnie of Rose, Okla., Lisa Shearer of Rose, Okla., Rusty Wells of Rose, Okla., Ray Hansuld and wife Lisa of Kansas City, Mo., Church Hansuld and wife Jessica of Kansas City, Mo., Michael Hansuld of Kansas City, Mo., Chazz DeMoss and wife Gira of Minn., Jackie DeMoss of Great Bend, Joyce DeMoss of Pryor, Okla., and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three daughters, Gwendolyn Loreg, Beverly Price, Betty Louise DeMoss; one son, Ancil DeMoss; five brothers; four sisters, and one granddaughter, Angela Marie Hicks Wells.
Memorial graveside service will be held at a later date. There will be no public visitation as cremation has taken place. Memorials are suggested to Locust Grove Village in care of Nicholson-Ricke Funeral Home. Condolences may be sent and notice viewed at www.nicholsonrickefh.net.
