KANSAS CITY, MO — Patricia L. Pierson, 62, died Sept 12 at her sister’s home, Bel Aire.  Born Jan. 3, 1951 at Lawrence, she was the daughter of Robert L. and Frances R. (Mills) Fanshier.  On Dec. 14, 1974, she married Richard Pierson at Kansas City, Kans.  They later divorced. She was a computer programmer for many years prior to starting her own company, Imaginative Designs.  Mrs. Pierson was a Kansas City, Mo., resident since 1973 coming from Stafford County. She was a member of Kansas City Chiefs Redcoater, Power Chics Board of Directors, and Missouri Iowa Nebraska Kansas Women in Computing Web Chair (MINK WIC). She was in the last graduating class at Prairie Home Country School. She was in the first graduating class from Barton County Community College. She was a 1973 graduate of Kansas State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science and a 1978 graduate of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, with a Masters of Business Administration degree.
Survivors include her mother, Frances R. Fanshier, Great Bend; three brothers: Randy Fanshier and his wife Angie of Great Bend, Roger Fanshier and his wife Gayle of Seward, and Brad Fanshier and his wife Danelle of Lawrence; her sister, Pamela Phillips of Bel Aire, and eleven nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father.
Funeral service will be Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 10:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Great Bend with Rev. Lennie Maxwell officiating. Interment will be at Eden Valley Cemetery, Seward. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, Sept. 16, at Bryant Funeral Home.  Memorials are suggested to University of Kansas Cancer Center or Golden Belt Humane Society, in care of Bryant Funeral Home.
