Paul D. Langen 1938-2011

Paul D. Langen, 73, of Great Bend, died Aug. 28 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born March 2, 1938 in Easton, Penn., the son of William J. and Nan Conard Langen who preceded him in death. He was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in Philadelphia, Penn. He was a veteran of Berlin Airlift 7th Army, 56th Medical Battalion.

Paul served in the U.S. Army as a medic in the late 1950s at military hospitals in San Antonio, Texas and Germany. He was a long time driver for Mid-Continent LP Service of Great Bend. In retirement, he continued driving for Marmie Motors, Happy Trails Bus Service, and various volunteer bus driving work.

He married Carol A. Cummins in 1962. They had four sons. Paul was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and the Elks (BPOE). He was a long time resident of Great Bend, recently spending time in Yuma, Ariz. and Azle, Texas.

Survivors include: his wife Carol A. Langen of Great Bend; his four sons Nathan Langen of Nowata, Okla., Gregory P. Langen of Azle, Texas, Joel Langen of Great Bend, and Jason Langen of Salina. His two sisters Nan Keating of Springfield, Va., and Nina Fuller of Charles Town, WVA., His 8 grandchildren Chad Langen, Jeremiah Langen, Taylor Langen, Amaya Langen, Jacob Langen, Conley Barnes- Langen, Aiden Barnes, and Paige Van Stenburgh, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday in Great Bend at First Assembly of God with Pastor Dwight Dozier officiating. There will be a private family burial at Hillcrest Memorial Cemetery at a later date. Family suggests donations to First Assembly of God Church, Golden Belt Foundation Humane Society Fund, or the Great Bend Humane Society.
