Pauline Helen Ammie Halfhill 1932 - 2017

Pauline Helen “Ammie” Halfhill, 85, died Dec. 10, 2017 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. Born Sept. 11, 1932 in Great Bend, she was the daughter of Emil F. and Sophie J. (Soeken) Kruckenberg. She married Marion R. “Hap”Halfhill on March 24, 29154. He died on Nov. 5, 1996. She was employed at Stoneridge Country Club in ground maintenance and Great Bend Police Department as a crossing guard until retiring this year. She was an avid Bingo player. She never met a stranger, was a friend to everyone, young and old and was strong willed and determined to the end.
She was a member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church of Great Bend.
She is survived by a son, Toby Halfhill and wife Vonda of Great Bend; five granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Lyman Kruckenberg. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Hap; a daughter Dawn Diane; a granddaughter Kiah Mead; three sisters, Dorothy Marymee, Grace Rhodes, Marvella Perry; and a brother Robert Kruckenberg.
There will be no graveside service as cremation has taken place. A service of life everlasting will take place at 11 a.m. on Jan. 6, 2018 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Great Bend. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Great Bend Humane Society.
