RUSSELL — Peggy Ann Beck, 61, of Russell, died April 20 at Via Christi St. Francis Hospital in Wichita. Born June 6, 1950, in Salina, she was the daughter of Philip S. and Bette J. (Johannes) Quinley.  Moving to Great Bend when she was 5 years old, she graduated from Great Bend High School in 1968. She then attended Marymount College. On July 25, 1975, she married Harold “Bud” Beck Jr. in Great Bend. They made their home in Great Bend until January of 1992 when they moved to Russell. She was the Barton County Courthouse Clerk for several years. Then in 2000 she became the Russell County District Court Clerk.
Mrs. Beck was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church of Russell, the Russell Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 6240 Ladies Auxiliary and the District Court Clerks Association.  
Survivors include her husband Bud of the home; two sons, Nicholas Beck of Lawrence and Philip Beck of Davey, Neb.; brother, Philip Quinley of Carmichael, Calif.; four grandchildren and a great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and by a son, Chris.
Celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church in Russell with the Rev. Roger Dennis officiating.  Burial will follow at the Russell City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the family present to greet friends from 6-7 p.m. Memorials have been established with St. John Lutheran Church or the Russell V.F.W. Post No. 6240 Ladies Auxiliary in care of the funeral home.
