SALINA — Phillip O. Carlson, 93, passed away Feb. 15, 2016. Born on May 22, 1922, in Gypsum, he was the son of Albert and Edith Carlson. He retired from Rickel Manufacturing in 1984. He also farmed with his dad and brother in the Gypsum area. He enjoyed traveling with his wife Donna for nine years before she passed. At age 78, Phil and Theresa Dykes were married and had 12 wonderful years together.
Mr. Carlson was a World War II veteran and longtime Veterans of Foreign War member.
Survivors include his daughter, Lexa Brown; son, Lanny Carlson; 10 stepchildren; 32 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; brothers, Neal, Donovan, and Gary; and son, William Lee.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 19 at Ryan Mortuary in Salina. Burial will follow at the Gypsum City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m., at the mortuary.
